A Night to Remember

A Night to Remember is a FREE event that is focused to honor 15-25 year old with special needs. On March 8, 2019 at 7 p.m., we are putting a fun twist on the traditional “A Night to Remember” to honor these amazing individuals. This year we will be celebrating Hawaiian style. Our honored guest will be partnered up with a Shepherd Youth and Shepherd Young Adults volunteer who will serve as their host for the night.

This Luau themed event will be providing every honored guest clothing, accessories, glam up squad, VIP ride, a gift bag and so much more! This is a FREE memorable experience that will last a lifetime.

Volunteer Information


Mahalo! Your willing heart to serve in making this a wonderful night to remember is a true blessing. Here are the team’s general description to guide you on how you could help us achieve in making this event a truly memorable one for our kids with special needs.

  • Set Up/ Tear Down

Help us build and create the best Hawaiian themed atmosphere for the night and setting it back up to reality once over.

  • Parking Assist

Guiding cars in and out of parking lots.

  • Greeting

You will be the welcoming faces of the event. This could include giving a warm aloha to students as they exit limousines, giving leis, helping with the flow of guests, or greeting at main entrances.

  • Registration

This could include assisting with checking in students, family members and event sponsors, and assisting with welcome packets.

  • Hair and Make Up

Designated for licensed Hair and Makeup artists to give the students their Luau look for their initial island vibe experience. Background check required.

  • Clothing

You will be helping us dress these kids and look their Hawaiian best. Assisting in tying up sarongs on Wahine (women) and helping put on the Hawaiian shirt on Kane (men) students. Background check required.

  • Photography

Must be experienced in photography. You will be capturing the best, most memorable moments of these kids in this tropical inspired event.

  • Hosting

Designated for Shepherd Youth and SYA Volunteers. Each host will be taking two kids under their wings and show them how to hang loose Hawaiian style. This will include staying with your assigned students throughout the evening, serving them in any way possible, and making their night fun and remarkable! Background check required.

  • Food Services

Variation of duties: Assisting in the kitchen, managing food tables, or serving food and beverages to guests.

  • Specialist Team:

ERT- Must be a licensed medical professional.

Quiet Room- Must have experience in working with individuals with special needs You will attend to the needs of students who may need to rest or have some quiet time away from the of the event.

Security- Must be background checked through Shepherd.
