The
reader will note that the following list of Scripture
texts includes a number of categories. Some texts demonstrate
the TNIV's departure from the original Greek text in
the matter of gender markings (Matthew 5:23; Heb. 2:17;
James 1:12); some the TNIV's departure from the original
Greek text in the matter of explicit mention of the
Jews (John 1:19, 5:10, 19:31); and some simply demonstrate
an inconsistent application of the TNIV's stated translation
principles (Eph. 1:5). Then finally, a few texts are
included because they were thought to be worthy of note
for unrelated reasons (Mark 2:15; 1 John 3:9, 4:17;
Jude 7).
Where we
debated including a text, most often we added it to
the list so the reader could form his own judgment.
